How to use the tool, what it changes in your text, how to read the scores, and how tokens work.
What Ungippity does
Ungippity rewrites AI-generated text so it's easy to read. Paste drafted copy, get a clean version back. Meaning, facts, and structure are maintained while overused AI patterns are dropped. Proper nouns, brand names, and technical jargon are protected; the rest is fair game.
What it removes
The tells that make AI text difficult to read — em-dash pileups, filler, hedged openers, empty transitions get rewritten into plain English everyone understands. Facts, structure, and meaning are preserved. Proper nouns, brand names, and technical jargon are flagged and protected from rewriting and hallucination.
Understanding the scores
Two scores show up after each rewrite:
- AI feel is a 0–10 score of how much the text still reads as raw AI output, before and after. 0 reads clean, 10 reads as obvious unedited AI. This is the score that matters.
- Tells count is a count of known AI tells in your text. Useful, but narrower than AI feel.
A tells count of 0 doesn't guarantee the text reads well. Use AI feel as the primary quality signal.
Token usage
One token is approximately four characters. Both your input and the rewritten output count toward your balance. Output is typically 80–120% of the input length, so a 500-character input costs roughly 240–275 tokens total.
New accounts receive a one-time 10,000-token trial at signup. After that, Ungippity Pro ($19/mo) adds 500,000 tokens every month. Unused tokens expire. See the pricing page.
